Coffee, simply explained

Arabica or Robusta?

Two coffee species. Different strengths. Discover what they bring to your cup.

Get to know coffee species

Coffea arabica

Many nuances.

From fruity and floral to chocolatey, Arabica can offer a wide range of flavours.

In your cup
Often delicate aromas and livelier acidity.
Caffeine
The beans contain less on average than Robusta. The amount in your drink also depends on the recipe.

Coffea canephora

Full of character.

Robusta often brings more body and stronger bitter notes. This species also offers exciting, high-quality coffees.

In your cup
Often fuller-bodied and less acidic.
Caffeine
The beans contain more on average than Arabica. More caffeine does not automatically mean better coffee.

Species alone does not determine quality. Origin, processing, roasting and brewing all shape the flavour.
